U14 & U15 Boys Tryout Update
U14 and U15 Boys tryouts have been postponed to a later date. Please complete the form and select the correct age group so we can notify you once a new tryout date has been confirmed.
All the information you need before you arrive. Current WFC players do not need to try out; placement is ongoing.

Our coaches assess four areas. No single area determines a player's placement. We look at the full picture.
Mental
Character, discipline, coachability, and leadership under pressure
Physical
Endurance, strength, speed, and athleticism for the age group
Technical
Ball control, passing accuracy, first touch, and shooting technique
Tactical
Game reading, positional awareness, and decisions under pressure

Arrive and check in
Bring cleats, shin guards, and a water bottle. Check in with the registrar at the main table.

Play your game
Our coaching staff observes players through drills, small-sided games, and full scrimmage scenarios. Just play. Be yourself.

Hear back from us
Placement decisions are communicated within 48–72 hours of tryout completion. Players placed on the developmental roster are also notified with next steps.

No. Current players are evaluated on an ongoing basis throughout the season. Your place in the club is secure as long as registration deadlines are met.

Any player ages 11-15 from Jefferson Parish, Plaquemines Parish, or the Greater New Orleans area is welcome. We serve the full Westbank and surrounding region.

This change is part of a national update designed to better align players with their school peers and improve the overall youth soccer experience. The goal is to support player development, consistency, and participation across all levels.

Tryouts will follow the updated school-year age group structure beginning with the 2026 Fall season. Players will be evaluated within their new age group designation.

We’ve created an Age Group Calculator to help families quickly determine where their player will fall under the new system. This will be the easiest way to confirm tryout placement.

Yes, all teams will align with the new national guidelines. However, Westbank FC will continue focusing on balanced team formation, proper player development, and maintaining strong competitive environments.

Grouping players by school year helps create more consistent team environments, stronger player connections, and a more comfortable social setting, all of which support long-term development and enjoyment of the game.
